About me

I'm Papabos, a game programmer with various years of experience both on Roblox and on AAA games. I am capable of delivering efficient and well-written code for you.

Roblox specific

I'm proficient with Roblox frameworks such as Knit and Fusion and in handling secure server-client communication, datastores and game design.

I also know cooperative workflow tools and version control software like Rojo, Git or P4.

Different from the Norm

I have a background working on custom game engines, so I have a unique perspective on problem solving and efficiency. I love trying to find the best method to solve a problem.

I'm an award-winning scripter, I've placed in various official Roblox contests as a programmer.

Projects

This is a non-exhaustive list of projects I've worked on, both personal and commercial.

Festival-like minigame

  • Commission for a client that wanted a minigame like Fortnite Festival. Needed the ability to create custom maps and for players to battle eachother
  • Has an automatic system that translates beat maps made in ArrowVortex to be compatible with Roblox, just drag and drop and you're ready to go.

Boids

  • Autonomous boids and "herding" system that I originally made for a scripting challenge. I've since been improving it for other stuff
  • Makes an appearance in our Oceanic Adventure Challenge game when the fish follow you.

UI Rewrite

  • Clients wanted a full refresh of their main hub.
  • I scripted all of the UI functionality for this client’s game hub where they announce their upcoming events, have a global leaderboard and give you access to a store.

Anime Paint by Numbers

  • Passion project game in which you paint tiles with your character.
  • Capable of storing the progress of 600+ images in the player's datastore thanks to my data packing system using data buffers.
  • Securely and efficiently handles collisions server side of 22,000+ parts per player plot.
